About Us
Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church is located in Hendricks County, Indiana, about 15 miles west of Indianapolis on Old US Highway 36 (also known as east Main Street) about mid-way between Avon and Danville. The church serves Avon, Brownsburg, Danville, Plainfield, and west Indianapolis communities.
The congregation was established in 1860 and currently has a weekly attendance of about 370 in three Sunday services in a beautiful new sanctuary which was opened in 2002. The sanctuary has seating for about 700 people.
Sunday services start with an 8:45 AM "traditional" service which includes choir, organ and piano music. Our 11:00 AM "contemporary" service features our praise team accompanied by drums, guitar, and keyboard. Our evening service at 6:45 PM uses a very informal "bible study" format and meets in our Multipurpose Room. It also includes singing some of the older hymns.
Between the two morning services there is a coffee & donut social time at 9:45 AM, followed by Sunday School classes for all ages at 10:00 AM.
We believe that God loves all His children and wants us to love and obey Him. He reached out to us through the old testament prophets, and through Christ Jesus, and He is still reaching out to us today.
